So yesterday Richie told me that he had had enough and told HP to give him a damn restock number or whatever and told them that he was having me come in later that afternoon to get a replacement so they damn well better get on it. They did and he told me to come in at six. Which I did. First I went to Walmart though and got a new tank and some things for the gerbils because their setup was in desperate need of replacement. The poor things didnt even have a water bottle in there constantly anymore because they kept chewing down the supporters I bought, and then I was just using duct tape because I was sick of buying new water bottle holders, and they were chewing through that too. So I bought new stuff they cant chew through. And more dog food. And cat litter. And new shoes for work :) So I can take mom's back now. I wonder if she ever even noticed they were missing lol. She never said anything. *shrug*
Anyway so then I went to CompUSA. Richie had been sent on a home job so he was on his way back to the store so someone else helped me and told me that they were almost out of stock of everything because next week Windows Vista comes out and a bunch of new laptops come out too. So they had very little for me to choose from and I thought I wasnt going to get anything good - because I had to get an HP laptop because they were the ones replacing it, not CompUSA, and the only two HP laptops there were, one was out of my budget range, and the other was way below and substandard. So the guy left to ask his manager guy if maybe I could get something else and while he was gone I about started crying. But Richie came and they figured out it did indeed have to be an HP, but they also found another laptop that was comparable to the one I had - its a higher model number, but I got cut back on hard drive (I had 160GB, now I have 100GB) and a slightly smaller graphics card, but Richie assured me it wasnt really enough to make a difference. I also get a free Vista upgrade when it comes out ($400 value apparently). And I just noticed this morning, this one has a built in webcam. So thats an upgrade. But everything else is equal or better. And I got my 17" widescreen ^.^ And this one was actually cheaper than my other one, so they used the remaining balance to buy another service thing for this one. Hopefully I wont need it though. And then I got twelve dollars back lol.
And I stopped by StL Bread Co on the way home and got a sandwich, cuz I hadnt been there in a while. Yummmmm Bacon Turkey Bravo.
So I had a decent evening.
And now everything is almost completely set up. Norton, Limewire, Winamp, WoW, MS... got almost everything together. Going to put my VCast stuff on here in a minute so I can start using my phone as an IPod finally. I have a bigger memory chip to put in the phone though, and I'm not sure how to do that... but I'll figure it out.
And while I waited over three hours to finish all the WoW downloading and updates, I cleaned my apartment pretty good. Mopped and vacuumed and all. All thats left is laundry later. And a bag of trash. And now I have that computer on my living room floor that I'm not sure what I'm going to do with because it doesnt really work anymore so I dont know if Mom and them want it back. I might have Richie look at it. Wouldnt want to waste a computer like that.
The shift button on this laptop is smaller and lower that I'm used to and I keep hitting the enter and / button. >.<
So now I'm downloading music and going to catch up on all my friends pages and communities. I'm wayyy behind. Sorry guys! No one's probably really missed me anyway. *shrug* |
